‘A New Era’ was a documentary idea from Santara Studios, that would follow Olympic, Ironman and World Triathlon champion, Kristian Blummenfelt’s journey to his first Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.
Specifically, we wanted to showcase the in-depth, scientific, and data-driven methodology Kristian and his coach, Olav Aleksander Bu, implement to ensure Kristian arrived on the start line in peak physical condition. The Santara Studios team pitched the concept to Red Bull with a vision of the documentary being published on Red Bull TV ahead of the Ironman World Championship.
With Red Bull’s buy in, Santara brought together a content team to storyboard, shoot, and edit the hero 20-minute documentary and accompanying promotional material while Kristian was at a training camp in Font Romeu. As well as working closely with the Red Bull team, it was important that Santara Studios ensured all key messaging and shot lists from CADEX and Trimtex, two of Kristian’s long-standing partners and collaborators on the project, were also included in the documentary.
